Meditation

We are so important. How many times do you put yourself first and give yourself some time to enjoy just a few minutes each day?

There is so much to do, but if I was to tell you that if you act a bit “selfish” and give 5 to 10 minutes to reconnect with yourself each day or every 2nd day you will see the difference.

I can already hear you. “I don’t have time.” “I don’t know what to do.” “My mind is never quiet!” “I don’t have any training or learnt how to meditate”

I hear these types of statements quite a bit when I start working with my mentoring students. Guess what. You are no different, most of us, if not all of us have had issues with meditation. So please do not feel that you are the only one that are having a few hiccups.

I thought I would ad some dos and don’ts to help you jump into a new exciting healthy lifestyle habit that won’t cost you anything, but a bit of your time each day.

List of Dos & Don’ts when learning how to meditate

So when it comes to mediation please do not judge yourself to others as I did. Put all your expectations aside. There is no right or wrong. Please try to avoid the following

  • You cannot make something happen.

  • Please do not overthink your mediation.

  • When your mind fills with thoughts that is ok. It is normal, just be ok with it, acknowledge the thoughts words and emotions and go back to the breath.

  • Do not worry about what is expected or what is right. You are right and that is all that matters.

  • If you are hungry please eat before meditating. We are not monks that need to do rituals or self-sacrifice.

  • You do not HAVE to do a mediation every morning or every evening. Please do your mediation at a time that suits you the best.

Things to do that will help you to mediate

  • Find a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed and feel safe.

  • You can sit up. You can lie down. You can meditate as you move, some do meditation while they walk or run. Please be aware of your safety. Some say sitting is best, some say sitting on the floor cross-legged is the only way. You must decide. It is your spiritual journey. It is your mediation time. I have read and been taught many times that if you do sit, it will allow the spiritual energy to flow up freely from your feet up through your spine and out of your crown. Connecting you with ease. I feel this and understand this statement to be true.

  • If you can eliminate noise or distractions you will find this beneficial when you first begin

  • I like to sit with my hands in different positions. Sometimes palms down. Sometimes palms up with thumb and ring finger touching. Where you put your hands is up to you.

  • I would strongly suggest you always ask for protection. I call in Archangel Michael, but others talk to a higher power that they can connect in with.

  • Allow yourself to pick the perfect time for you to meditate.

  • I like to have soft music or a frequency on. You can have a guided meditation or just music. Again up to you. Chose the type you feel most comfortable with.

You will find that the more you meditate the more connected and deeper you will go. Learning to clear your mind regularly will be nothing but beneficial to you.

This month my gift to you is a free clearing your mind mediation. I hope you will try it out for the next 4 weeks and see how many changes in your life you will see happen.

Happy Meditating
