Happy Halloween - Scrying day of fun
I have written this workshop for Sunday the 26th of October 2025, before we celebrate Halloween so you will be ready to do all your scrying on All Hallows Eve!
Learn to connect and foretell your own and others’ future in many different scrying techniques that will be taught on the day.
The day is one of fun and excitement allowing you to feel the connection at its strongest with the veil between the world of the living and the dearly departed is the thinnest. Full of laughter and fun facts come along and learn your favourite scrying technique just before Halloween.
Ancient Historical Origins of Halloween
Halloween is an ancient Celtic festival. It was known as Samhain. It was held on November the 1st, but we celebrate Halloween on the 31st of October. It was believed that on this day the souls of the dead would return to their homes. This is why we light bonfires, and lanterns or place a light in the window to ward off the spirits. This is also the reason for the costumes to look different to the spirits.
In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III decided to designate the 1st of November as All Saints Day. It incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before All Saints Day is now known as Hallows Eve or Halloween. It is at this time that the veil between the dimensions is the thinnest. This means that the boundary between the living and the dead is easily blurred and that spirits or the dead could walk among the living of this night.
The Celtic festival started some 2000 years ago. As an ancient religion, known as Celtic paganism, it was largely practiced by the Celtic people throughout Europe. It is from the festival of the dead, Samhain that it became associated with spirits and mischief. It was at the beginning of the dark half of winter, so a time when daylight faded quickly and you were stuck inside your home. Stories would have been told to pass the time on a cold winter night in front of a warm fire. A favourite was how the veil between the two worlds was at its thinnest.
