What is the difference between a Spirit Guide and a Guardian Angel?

A frequent question I get asked is: ‘what is the difference between a Spirit Guide and a Guardian Angel?

Using knowledge gained over many years, here’s what I have learnt and believe to be true.

Spirit guides and guardian angels are non-physical entities who have chosen to help and guide us. Within these, there are different types within each which I explain below

Spirit Guides

A spirit guide is not an angel.

A spirit guide,also known as spirit helpers or teachers, were once human at some stage. This makes them extremely compassionate and understanding of what we experience here in our lifetime. They come into our lives when we need to be upskilled or help with a project or situation.

I have read and been told we have up to three different spirit guides in our lives, whether we are aware of them or not.

Some people refer to different levels of spirit guides. I have heard Ascended Masters, such as Buddha or Mother Mary, are sometimes known as Greater Spirit Guides, but I like to refer to them as the Ascended Masters.

You may have heard of Spirit Animals. These could be a loving pet that we have lost, and they have decided to stick around to help your team of loving carers and just let you know every now and then, that they are still around. Pets are always so loving and protective of us, so this makes so much sense to me.

Please do not get spirit animals confused with a Power Animal. A Power Animal is spiritual energy. You can call on them to ask for assistance in any type of situation. You may see a Power Animal to help you understand a message or sign for your spiritual growth. If you are meant to see a Power Animal, you will find it will turn up as a living animal or in another form in different places where it normally isn’t seen.

Guardian Angels

I have been shown that we make agreements with at least one guardian angel before we come to Earth, to join and help us on our journey.

They know what we wish to achieve – our life purpose, and they have access to our book of life.

They are gently and lovingly keeping us on track throughout our lives.

They communicate with us in many ways, but the most common way, when we are not listening, is through our gut instinct. I have not spoken to an angel that has spent time on Earth, but I have learnt to ‘never say never’. 

Archangels

Archangels are an angel that has a rank or level within their realm. They are very powerful, and their energy is loving and yet once you connect to an Archangel energy you will feel the energy shift and change wherever you are.

Each Archangel has a specific power or skill. You can call on them whenever you need help or assistance. Archangel Michael is known as the protector. Call him in whenever you are scared, but he is also wonderful at fixing things. If your car stalls or your computer won’t work, pray or chat to Archangel Michael for help, he has never let me down.

Loved ones who have crossed are also always close at hand. I find that many a loved one will act as a guide or guardian angel, and always for your highest good. Please feel free to chat to them and ask them for signs. I have been told by many a lost loved one, that they have arranged for their partners to meet and fall in love again, or surprised them with special gifts on their anniversaries.

There are also a lot of angels that are there, just waiting to be called upon. I have since learnt that we have lots of these kind and loving angels that have not been called into service as yet by their humans and so will often help out if needed. I have heard that these angels are sometimes referred to as ‘Assistance or helper angels.’ 

These helper angels are always with us, wanting to help. I know of at least three occasions where I have been helped by an angel. When I was lost, I turned to find a kind male that without me having to ask a question, told me how to exit the building and get to my appointment on time. I looked towards the exit of the carpark and then turned back to thank him, and he was gone. There would have been no way for him to have left so quickly and I didn’t hear a car for him to have entered. He was an Angel that was there when I was getting very anxious and upset. My Great Gran always told me to be nice to strangers and you just never know who you were talking to.

All of these non-physical entities have chosen to help and guide us – we are so lucky. So please just need to invite them in. Start a conversation. Ask for help. You will be glad that you did!
